FortiGate 90G Firewall
A desktop next-generation firewall sized for a single office or branch of up to roughly 100 users.
The 90G is the model we quote most often for a Hong Kong office that has outgrown a consumer router but does not need a rack-mount appliance. It handles routing, VPN, intrusion prevention and web filtering in one box, so there is no separate device to license and patch.
It ships with enough ports for a typical office: two 10-gigabit SFP+ uplinks and eight gigabit copper ports, which is usually enough for the firewall itself, one uplink to the switch, and a spare. If you are running more than one VLAN, the 90G keeps inter-VLAN traffic on the appliance rather than pushing it back through the switch.
Licensing is the part most suppliers gloss over. The hardware is a one-off cost, but the security subscriptions — IPS, web filtering, anti-malware — are annual. We quote both so you can see the three-year cost of ownership rather than just the box.
